The Rev. James A. "Shorty" Underwood, a resident of Dothan, died early Monday morning, Nov. 26, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 73. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Dothan City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Complete arrangements and survivors will be announced by Byrd Funeral Home. Byrd Funeral Home, (334) 793-3003, is in charge of arrangements.
