Harry Truitt Chambers

Harry Truitt Chambers of Enterprise, passed away, Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at his home. He was 90. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Meadowlawn Cemetery. Burial will follow with Providence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Day Spring Hospice, P.O. Box 311246, Enterprise, AL, or Alzheimers Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302. Mr. Chambers was a lifetime resident of Enterprise. He was well known in the community and loved by many. He was a farmer and cattleman. He owned Chambers Supermarket in Enterprise for 20 years. Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by a daughter, Gaye Peacock. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Bobbie Knight Chambers, Enterprise; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Frye (Bud), Enterprise, Jan Pittman (Kinn) Enterprise; three grandchildren, Cliffton Truitt Peacock, Enterprise, Jennifer Lynn Farris, Enterprise, Dr. Daniel McKinnon Pittman (Kathryn) Birmingham; one great-grandchild, Alice McKinnon Pittman; one sister, Betty Lyttle, Enterprise.
