Mrs. Annie Will Riley

Mrs. Annie Will Riley, a resident of Wiregrass Nursing Home of Geneva, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2007. She was 93. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Maple Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Shirah officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2 until 4 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Maple Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund. Mrs. Riley was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Geneva County to the late Daniel Thomas and Annie Mims Spears. Prior to her retirement she was employed with Clinton Mills of Geneva. She was a lifelong resident of Geneva and was a member of Maple Avenue Baptist Church for 58 years. As a faithful Christian she won many perfect attendance awards at Sunday School. She was a member of the Geneva Senior Citizens and was the Avon lady from the 1950s to the 1980s. Preceding her in death was her husband of 62 years, Luther Riley; one son, Harold Riley; daughter-in-law, Rose Ann Riley; and a grandson, David Riley. Survivors include one son, Luther (Linda) Riley Jr. of Rainbow City; two daughters, Faye (Lawrence) Owen of Geneva and Mary Frances (Herman) Hancock of Geneva; two sisters, Mrs. Corine Spears of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Tom Ed Hogan of Geneva; eight grandchildren, Keith (Jo) Hancock of Montgomery, Kevin (Pam) Hancock of Luverne, Kay (Vince) Jones of Geneva, Lisa (David) Nix of Tuscaloosa, Laura (Ted) Satcher of Huntsville, Pam (David) Bone of Gadsden, Lynn Riley of Anniston, Scott (Mary) Owen of Dothan; 14 great-grandchildren, Tarra Lesgris, Brooke Hancock, Alexandra Hancock, Kady Jones, Kanon Jones, Kristin Riley, Lurisa Riley, Jerid Riley, B.J. Barr, Riley Nix, Stephen Satcher, Jack Satcher, Laren Owen and Anne Marie Owen; two great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey Roach and Ethan Roach; one future great-great- grandchild, Landon Owen. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and family, Keith Hancock, Kevin Hancock, Scott Owen, Jerid Riley, David Bone, and Charles Morris. Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva, (334) 684-2600, is in charge of arrangements.
