Mrs. Maxine Moore, 75 of Cowarts, passed away with her loving family at her beside at her residence.
Mrs. Moore was born on Oct. 21,1932, in Early County, Ga. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Her passion in life was her flowers and taking care of her loved ones. She will always be remembered for her special talks, being a hard worker, and a wonderful friend. Our mother, our Mawmaw, will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by father, L. Maxwell Gaylord (Borgie), husband, James Hardy Moore, son-in-law, Kenneth Murkerson
She is survived by mother, Fannie Bell Gaylord of Avon; children, Ronnie and Debbie Moore of Cottonwood, Martha and Gene Oliver of Ashford, Jean Murkerson of Ashford, Roger and Cathy Moore of Pansey and Kim Whitehurst and Tommy Cassaday of Avon; brothers and sisters, Rex and Margie Gaylord of Cottonwood, Benny Ray and Ruby Gaylord of Webb, Sue and David Johnson of Avon, Thomas Gaylord of Avon, Alberta Smith of Rehobeth, Edna Smith of Lovetown and Jake and Frances Moore of Lovetown; grandchildren, Jonathan Moore of Webb, Jennifer Moore of Webb, Mandy and Jason McCallister of Rehobeth, Jamie and Valorie Smith of Pansey, Corey Smith of Rehobeth, Steven and Michelle Moore of Pansey, Trey Whitehurst, Megan Whitehurst and Matt Whitehurst of Avon; great-grandchildren, Preston Whittaker, Kaydance Moore, Kayla Rouse, Katlin Rouse, Shelby Smith, and Caleb Smith; son at heart, Rickey Whitehurst; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Ashford. Officiating will be the Rev. John Smith. The visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Ashford. Immediately following the service the interment will be held at Howards Grove Cemetery in Cottonwood. Active pallbearers will be Steven Moore, Jamie Smith, Corey Smith, Trey Whitehurst, Jason McCallister and Jonathan Moore
