Mark Charles Wheeler, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 53.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Flint Memorial Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. Byrd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northview Christian Church, 233 Bic Road, Dothan, Alabama, 36303.
Mr. Wheeler was born May 19, 1954 in Flint, Michigan and lived the early years of his life in Mt. Morris, Michigan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the 82nd Airborne in Ft. Bragg, NC. He also served in the National Guard for several years. Mr. Wheeler lived in the Dothan area for the past 20 years where he was self-employed as a carpenter. He was a member of Northview Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Mark Christian and his wife, Jennifer of Bay City, MI; three grandchildren; his father, Elmer J. Wheeler of Mt. Morris, MI; two sisters and a brother, Judy Wheeler of Lame Deer, MT, Jim Wheeler and his wife, Twyla of Cape Coral, FL and Suzanne Dimitrakis and her husband, Bill of Paynesville, OH; special friends, Rev. Hart Ramsey and his wife Alicia.
