Mrs. Ivey Hida Thorne Knight

Mrs. Ivey Hida Thorne Knight of Slocomb passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 67.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 from the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with the Rev. Cliff Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitaker United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
Mrs. Knight was born July 5, 1940, in Barbour County to the late Porter and Nettie Lee Concord Thorne. She graduated from Wallace College with a certificate in upholstery. She loved all of her family and never met a child she did not take into her arms. She and Mr. Knight just celebrated their 50th anniversary Sept. 14, 2007.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin Dee Knight, Slocomb; three daughters, Julie Knight, Bainbridge, Ga., Donna Braswell (William), Buford, Ga., Lorey Heath (Leslie), Gordon; two sons, Glenn Knight (Cindy), Dothan, and Larry Knight (Joyce), Fadette; one sister, Ann Young, California; five brothers, Linburg Thorne, Columbus, Ga., Johnny Thorne, Los Angeles, Calif., Dennis Thorne, Dothan, Robert Thorne, Washington, Roland Thorne, Dothan; seven grandchildren, Randall Braswell, Jennifer Braswell, Philip Peters, Joshua Peters, Quentin Mims, Stephanie Metzger, James Metzger and Jason Harden; six great-grandchildren.
