David LaVon Manning, 29, of Columbia, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 11, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Manning was born on July 20, 1978, in Geneva County. David was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. David also loved his job working with his father and brother in the tree trimming business at Mannings Nationwide Tree Service. He also attended New Freedom Church in Webb. He knew and was loved by anyone and all that knew him and will be greatly missed by all. He was very artistic and loved to draw flowers and angels.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Woodrow Manning, and maternal grandfather, James Ernest Ray.
He is survived by parents, Durwood LaVon Manning and Frances Ernestine Manning; children. Samantha Jo Manning and Ashton LaVon Manning; two brothers, Clint Manning, Cowarts, Sean Manning, Columbia; one sister, Ashley Nichole Vann, Ashford; maternal grandmother, Sarah Frances Fowler, Graceville, Fla.; paternal grandmother, Evelyn McDonald, Birmingham; several aunts, uncles and cousins; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in the Chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan. Officiating will be the Rev. Larry Adams. The interment will be held immediately following the service at Frith Hill Community Church in Cottonwood. The visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Dothan. Other than scheduled visitation times the family will gather at the residence of Davids Brother Clint Manning, 297 Broadstreet, Cowarts.
