Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Fincher Templeton of Ozark died Saturday morning, Nov. 10, 2007, at her home. She was 72.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Ozark Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Aman and Rev. Johnnie Fincher officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Her body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today 4 to 6 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church Family Life Center, 282 S. Union Ave., Ozark, AL 36360.
Dorothy Annette Fincher Templeton, the daughter of the late Eli and Denis Elizabeth Faulkner Fincher, was born Dec. 26, l934, in Mobile. Dorothy Templeton leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Harvey Dean and was by his side as he served in the United States Navy for 22 years. Upon his retirement, in l977, they made their home in Ozark where Dot began Dots Beauty Salon, running it successfully for the past 25 years. Dot was a person who loved deeply ? her friends, family ? her church, Ozark Baptist, where she was a loyal and dedicated member and especially loved to sing in the choir. Dot, our "Mama" and "Nannie" will be missed, but will live in our hearts and memory and through us as we remember all she taught us, all she believed in and stood for ? a life by which were truly blessed!
Mrs. Templeton was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wallace Fincher and Ollie Fincher; and sister, Deloris Baker.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harvey Dean Templeton; one daughter, Donna Templeton Skeen and her husband, Jerry (Jay), of Ozark; two sons, Hiram Templeton and his wife, Patricia, of Bay Minette, and Michael Templeton and his wife, Rhonda, of Mobile; five grandchildren, Katie McKinney and her husband, Rev. Joe McKinney, of Jackson, Kellie Williford and her husband, Daniel, of Loxley, Kayla Templeton of Orange Beach, Kristie Templeton of Tuscaloosa, and Anne-Marie Coaker of Ozark; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Braydon Williford of Loxley; stepmother, Mary Fincher Hughes of Mobile; four brothers, Rev. Johnnie Fincher and his wife, Frances, of Scottsboro, Mitchell Fincher and his wife, Phyllis, of Decatur, Eli Fincher, Jr. of Semmes, and Darryl Fincher and his wife, Rae, of Wilmer; two sisters, Mary Pearl Holifield and her husband, Clifton, of Mobile, and Carol Woodall of Baton Rouge, La.; one sister-in-law, Louise Fincher, of Mobile; several special nieces and nephews; and her yorkie, "Harry", the love of her life.
