Mr. Glen Howell, 66, of Rainbow Road, Ashford, (Lovetown) passed away Saturday evening Nov. 10, 2007, at the North Florida Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Graceville, Fla.
Mr. Howell was born on Aug. 16, 1941, in Bay Harbor, Fla.
For nine years Mr. Howell was employed with Farley Nuclear Plant as a HVAC engineer sheet metal inspector local 441, from where he retired in 1986. Prior to being employed with Farley, Mr. Howell was employed with the GFA as a peanut inspector. He was also a member of Antioch Assembly of God church in Cottonwood. Glen will always be remembered as a loving person who loved giving back to the community. Glens family was proud of the fact that he became a supporter of the Childrens Christian Association, where he adopted a young girl overseas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Houston Howell and Blanche Guy Howell and a brother, Kenneth Howell.
Survivors include a wife of 45 years Alice Howell of Ashford (Lovetown); a daughter, Sherry Schwab and husband (Sgt. First Class Douglas Schwab) of Newnan, Ga.; a son, Todd Howell and wife (Marla) of Lovetown; grandchildren, Amber Howell, Kyle Howell, Joshua Money, and Dillon Schwab; five brothers, Cecil Howell and wife (Doris) of Avon, Rex Howell and wife (Peggy) of Lovetown, Aaron Howell of Hartford, Larry Howell of Cottonwood; two sisters, Edna Johnson and husband (Rodger) of Sampson, Helen Chalker and husband (Bobby) of Slocomb; several Nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 14, 2007, in the Chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Ashford. Officiating will be Brother Johnny Simmons. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home in Ashford. The interment will immediately follow the service at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Ashford. Other than scheduled visitation times the family will gather at the residence of Mrs. Alice Howell at 49 Rainbow Road, Ashford.
