Quillie V. "Tince" McCardle, a resident of Cottonwood, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness. She was 88.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Ernest Brooks and Mickey Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 1:45 p.m. prior to service time.
The family will be at the residence of Louise and Floyd Snell, 5629 State Line Road, Cottonwood.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ramah Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Wachovia Bank, 2218 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL 36303.
Mrs. McCardle was born Jan. 15, 1919, in Houston County where she lived her entire lifetime. She was the daughter of Fernando and Mammie Hobbs Love. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. McCardle enjoyed singing and was a member of Ramah Primitive Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Amos McCardle,; sons, A. J. McCardle, J. W. McCardle, three brothers and eight sisters.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Floyd Snell, Cottonwood; daughter-in-law, Jane McCardle, Cottonwood; five grandchildren, Tammy (Troy) Wilson, Teresa Temple, Pam (Scott) Lowe, Kim (Darrin) Dillard, Chris (Chasity) McCardle; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; special niece, Dianna Givens, Cottonwood; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, (334) 702-1712, is in charge of arrangements.
