Chester Arthur Sampson, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007,1:30 p.m., from the Church of Dothan where the Sister Annie Anderson is pastor and Brother Isaac Moore is officiating.
Interment will follow in the Church Of Dothan Cemetery, Newville, with Varner Memorial Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
His survivors include his children, William (Mae-Louise) P.Sampson,Tallahassee, Fla., Lowell (Avis) Davis, Valrico, Fla., Dewayne (Patricia) Davis of Columbia and Darrell (Tonya) Sampson of Ashford; his grandchildren, Arthur, Glenda, Darline, Troy, Sheree, Tawanna, Angelica, Jamarian, Darrell Jr., Sierra, Chariti and Azarah; six great-grandchildren; his brothers, Junior Sampson, Tallahassee, Fla., Edward Sampson Sr. and Samuel Sampson of Tampa, Fla.; close friend, Willie J.Toliver; special nephew, Leroy "Sampson" James; his god-daughter, Tammy Grubbs; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Varner Funeral Home, (334) 671-1455, is in charge of arrangements.
