Mr. Mike Sollie Maloy of 507 W. Ewing St., Samson, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at Wiregrass Hospital. He was 76.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with the Minister Mark Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the Earlytown Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m.
Mr. Maloy was born Dec. 5, 1930, in Geneva County to the late Thomas V. andd Albena Keith Maloy. He worked as an aircraft mechanic at Fort Rucker prior to his retirement. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Reynolds Maloy, one brother, Keith Maloy, and one grandson, Darrell Bruce Berry.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Betty Berry of Kinston; one granddaughter, Heather Berry, Andalusia; one grandson, Derrick and wife, Christy Berry, of Samson; two great-grandsons, Isaac Darrall Berry, Samson, and Ian Jordan Berry of Samson; one sister, Mrs. Doris J. Weeks of Lowery; one brother, Bill R. Maloy of Daphne; one aunt, Mrs. Frances Bates (Richard) of Columbus, Ga.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
