Annette Brown Gulledge, a resident of Headland, died late Friday night, October 26, 2007, at her home. She was 72.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2007, in the Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Barker, Rev. Mike Griggs and Rev. Chris Gulledge officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary of the Beulah Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Beulah Baptist Church, 3225 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL, 36303.
Mrs. Gulledge was born and reared in Blue Springs in Barbour County, daughter of the late Howard Clifton Brown and Una Cox Brown. She moved to Headland in 1963. Mrs. Gulledge was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church. In earlier years, she owned and operated Wynettes Restaurant in Headland. Mrs. Gulledge was preceded in death by a sister, Wannie Brown Ellis and two brothers, Billy Cox and Dwan Brown.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 57 years, Rev. Winford O. Gulledge, Headland; a daughter, Ramona L. Odom and husband, Major Danny Odom, Headland; three sons, Keith Gulledge and wife, Jane Gulledge, Newville; Glen Gulledge and wife, Carla Gulledge, Headland; Chris Gulledge and wife, Stacey T. Gulledge, Headland; three sisters, Sheree Littlefield, Blue Springs; Brenda Barbaree and husband, Mark Barbaree, Banks, Ala.; Alice Simmons and husband, Roger Simmons, Blue Springs; four brothers, Buddy Cox and wife, Wanara Cox, Herod Brown and wife, Jane Brown, all of Clio, AL.; Reverend Woody Brown and wife, Miriam Brown, Eufaula; Larry Brown and wife, Sheila Brown, New Brockton, AL.; ten grandchildren, Tonya Herbold and husband, Hank Herbold, Gina Burdeshaw, Joseph Gulledge, Samuel Gulledge, Cameron Odom and wife, Lindsey Odom, Sandi Murray and husband, Blake Murray, Amber Gulledge, Paxston Gulledge, Crickette Gulledge and Ethan Gulledge; four great-grandchildren, Cole and Clay Burdeshaw, Gracie Herbold and Connor Odom; numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be the grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
