Mrs. Anne Richardson Boyd Whitehead, a resident of Dothan, died peacefully at Graceville Campbellton Hospital in Graceville, Fla. She was 87.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, which would have been her 88th birthday, from Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rich officiating. Burial will follow at Dothan City Cemetery with Ward Wilson
Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6-8 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of Renee Heffner, 205 Redwood Ave., in Dothan.
Mrs. Whitehead was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Panama City, Fla., to T.E. and Carrie D. Williams. She was a longtime member at Southside Baptist Church and retired from Warners Co. on Nov. 1, 1981. After her retirement she assisted at Grans Home. She was a greeter at K-Mart and enjoyed fishing and camping with her family and expressed her love through her cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 22 years, Fred Boyd, and her husband of 29 years, William Virgil Whitehead, a sister, Agnes Smith, a brother, Hervie Richardson and a son-in-law, Willard Patton.
Mrs. Whitehead is survived by her daughters, Renee Boyd Heffner and her husband, Pat, of Dothan, and Fredna Boyd Patton Harbuck of Dothan; a sister, Virginia Johnson and her husband, Ivy, of Lake Placid, Fla.; her grandchildren, Cherie Chason and her husband, John, of Dothan and Michael Patton of Dothan; great-grandchildren, Coates Charles Chason and Carson Boyd Chason; a caring grandson-in-law, Jamie Hayes and his wife, Gina, of Phenix City.
