Mary Shelley Davis, a resident of Kristie Road, Dothan, died Monday morning, Oct. 22, 2007, at her home. She was 69.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Joey Pettis officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 110, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mrs. Davis was born a native of Henry County, daughter of the late Thomas Dowell (Tom) Shelley and Mahala Davis Shelley. She lived in Mount Morris, Ill., for seven years before moving to Dothan in 1973. Mrs. Davis retired from Wal-Mart in Dothan in 2002 after 20 years of employment. She was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a son, Terry Brooks, two brothers, Brooks Shelley and Charles Shelley.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 44 years, Eugene Everett Davis, Dothan; three sons, James M. Davis and wife, Kim Davis, Panama City, Fla.; Jeff Davis, Dothan; Shaun Davis and wife, Autumn Davis, Midland City; a sister, Dean Ridley, Panama City, Fla.; two brothers, Wade Shelley and wife, Gail Shelley, Dothan; Davis Shelley and wife, Bobbie Shelley, Phenix City; five grandchildren, Katie Davis, Libby Davis, Michelle Brooks, Chad Brooks and Jason Chancey; a great-grandson, Shaun Paul Davis.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Burt Shelley, Jimmy Shelley, Keith Shelley, Kent Freeman, Aaron Freeman, James Earl Shelley, Chad Brooks, Tony Saliba and Jim Capps.
