Nina V. Childree of Cottonwood, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center after an extended illness. She was 59.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at the Sunset Memorial Park Pavilion with the Rev. Ronald Vann officiating and Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Sunset Memorial Park, Funeral Home. Flowers are being accepted and can be delivered to 1808 Barrington Road.
Mrs. Childree was born on Oct. 28, 1947, in Dale County and spent her early years in Midland City. She was employed at Headstrom for several years and has resided in Cottonwood for the past six years.
Survivors include her daughter Judy Barnes and her husband, Jessie, of Alford, Fla.; sons, David Childree and his wife, Rachel, of Defuniak Springs, Fla., Willie Childree and his wife, Penny, of Ozark, Michael Childree and his wife, Margaret, of Dothan; 21 grandchildren; brothers, Johnnie Proctor of Midland City, Andrew Proctor of McLenny, Fla.; a sister, Essie Lee Brannon of Leesburg, Ga.; stepbrothers, Herman Donaldson of Dothan, Tommy Donaldson of Headland, Rex Donaldson of Rocky Head; several nieces and nephews; a very good friend, Larry Dorn of Cottonwood.
Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Crematory, (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements.
