We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Malcom Freeman of Jakin, Ga., who passed away Friday evening, Oct. 12, 2007, at the Donalsonville Hospital. He was 78.
Funeral services for Mr. Freeman will be held on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Cedar Springs, Ga. with the Rev. Keith Horn and Tommy Wright, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Freeman was born in Early County, Ga.. on Aug. 23, 1929, to the late James Madison and Mary Harris Freeman. He
served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Freeman was a retired educator, having been involved in education for 40 years. He was a member of the Gideons, the Shriners, and the Early, Clay, Calhoun Retired Educators Association. He was also a member of the Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Mr. Freeman leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Pat Freeman of Jakin, Ga.; a son, Mal Freeman; a daughter, Nena Pearce and her husband Alan of Jakin, Ga.; six grandchildren, Matthew Freeman, David Freeman, Chasity Freeman, Allison Pearce, Alana Pearce, and Jerry Pearce; and one great grandchild, Llana Hughes. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Madison and Mary Harris Freeman, three sisters, and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Jesse McLeod, Jerry Houston, Kim Pyle, Tony Bruner, Freeman Parrish, Philip Buckhalter, Vinson Evans and Jimmy Pyle.
