Jean Fulford Filipiak, a resident of Midland City, died early Sunday morning, Oct. 14, 2007, at her home. She was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. John Anderson and SouthernCare Hospice Chaplain Tony Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.
Mrs. Filipiak was born and reared in Dale County and lived in Midland City most of her adult lifetime. She was a member of the Midland City Baptist Church. Mrs. Filipiak was formerly employed by the Officers Club at Fort Rucker as cashier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Francis Filipiak, a son, Randall Fulford, a daughter-in-law, Billie Fulford, a granddaughter, Michelle Stevens, her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Sandra Stevens and husband, Steve Stevens, Echo community, Mary (Trish) Turvin and husband, Gene Turvin, Echo community, Sheila Stewart and husband, Don Stewart, Midland City; two sisters, Pansey Jordan and husband, Jack Jordan, Geneva, Sadie Shelley and husband, Bobby Shelley, Dothan; a brother, Truman Fulford and wife, Annette Fulford, Dothan; a brother-in-law, Billy Smith, Ozark; six grandchildren, Stacy Harper and husband, Bryan Harper, Christy Hagler and husband, Clay Hagler, Shaela Barnes, Chris Fulford, Chad Fulford and wife, Angelia Fulford, Jennifer Norris and husband, Michael Norris; six great-grandchildren, Hunter Wilkerson, Chase Fulford, Jaxston Condrey, Kailey Fulford, Jaci Hagler and Jayda Barnes; several nieces and nephews including special nieces, Dinah Smith, Jackie Spivey, Kayleen Smith and Kim Howell; a beloved canine granddog, Buttons.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Bryan Harper, Chris Fulford, Chad Fulford, Clay Hagler, Matt Barnes and Henry Smith.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jaxston Condrey, Bobby Shelley and Robert Spivey.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Darius Aliabadi, Hollie Crutchfield, the staff of HeartSouth and also to SouthernCare Hospice for their loving care during the illness of Mrs. Filipiak.
