Services for Grace Gissendanner Whittle, 88, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. in Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Milledgeville, Ga., with Dr. Jay Hodges officiating.
Concluding services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. at Slocomb United Methodist Church, Slocomb, with Dr. Walter Reeder officiating. Burial will be in the Slocomb City Cemetery.
Mrs. Whittle passed away Oct. 7, 2007, in an Atlanta, Ga., hospital.
Mrs. Whittle was a native of Hartford, lived most of her life in Alabama and had made her home in Sparta, Ga., for the past 11 years. She was the widow of the late Haley Adron Whittle and the daughter of the late Joseph and Essie Collins Gissendanner. She was predeceased by a son, Jimmy R. Whittle. She was a member of the Milledgeville First United Methodist Curch and the Turner-Farmer Sunday School class.
Survivors include daughters, Rehba Ragan of Sparta, Ga., and Carolyn Pillar of Oakdale, Conn.; one sister, Eunice Adams of Thomaston, Ga.; one brother, Joe Gissendanner of Slocomb; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday at 6 p.m. to receive friends.
