Mr. James E. Granger of Fadette, AL passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at his home, after a brief illness. He was 48.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 in New Hinson Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating. Burial will follow in New Hinson Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Southeast Alabama Area Office, 2346 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama 36301, or to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL 36301.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m.
James was born on March 15, 1959 in Hartford to Wynell Tate Granger and the late Eddie Granger. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He operated S and L Machinery and Fabrications. He loved living in Fadette, loved his family dearly and his favorite pastime was fishing.
His father preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Stella Louise Granger of Fadette; three daughters and sons-in-law: Louise and Bob Littlefield of Shorterville, Candice and Mark LeCocq of Arlington, Wash., and Renea and Kendalle Myers of Fadette; one son and daughter-in-law: James and Kelly Dice of Fadette; his mother and step-father: Wynell and Billy Prescott of Hartford; one sister and brother-in-law: Lori and Charles Coker of Fadette; one brother and sister-in-law: Danny and Lavelle Granger of Fadette; five grandchildren: Hannah, Katie, and Jacob Dice, Blaine Myers, and Emma Riedel; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be John Weatherly, David Waller, Ron Bedford, Keith Wyrick, Jerry Murphy and Larry Lassiter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Hovey, Donnie Crawford, Cory Crawford, Phillip Santora, Tony Murphy and Charles Hovey.
Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb, (334) 886-7777, is in charge of arrangements.
