Mack Richard Fortune, of Kinsey, passed away Thursday Oct. 4, 2007 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 23.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the First Baptist Church of Ashford with the Rev. Todd Thorpe officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Ashford Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times the family will be at 2144 Gene Terry Road, Ashford.
Mr. Fortune was born on Oct. 29, 1983 in Troy and lived all of his life in the Dothan area. He attended Cottonwood High School and was a subcontractor as an installer for several floor covering companies in the area. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing and particularly Tony Stewart. He was preceded in death by his father, Laster Fortune.
Survivors include his mother Doreen Anderson and her husband Kenneth of Ashford; a brother Joseph Fortune of Pansey; sisters, Larissa Schuler and her husband Eric of Pansey, Felicia Oakford and her husband Stephen of Cottonwood, Demicia Michelle Fortune of Cottonwood; his grandparents, Joe and Bernice Duggan, Purmela, Texas; several aunts, uncles and cousins from Texas and Oklahoma.
