Mr. Foman Owens Jr. age 77 of Marianna, Fl., passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Owens was born on July 8, 1930, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Foman Owens Sr.
He was a lifetime resident of the Forks of the Creek Community in Jackson County, Fla., and was a farmer for most of his life before retirement. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents, Foman Owens Sr. and Erie Hobby Owens, and brothers, Jimmy Owens, Charles Hobby Owens, Shelby Owens and Johnny Frank Owens.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce Nowell Owens of Marianna, Fla.; one son and daughter in law, Billy and Pamela Owens of Marianna, Fla.; three granddaughters, Christie Creamer and fianc�e Chad Watts, Terri and Brian Golden, and Kayla and Judd Bundy; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Austin Creamer and Ivy Golden; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very special family friend, Ronald (Bud) Moore, and a special nephew, Ronnie Owens.
Mr. Owens service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in the chapel at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Ramer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service time.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main St., Suite 3, Dothan, AL 36301.
