Willie Adams of Enterprise, held Jesus hand as he departed this earth and stepped into heaven on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007. He won his battle with lung cancer and is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior. He was 60.
Mr. Adams was born in Barbour County. He grew up and lived in Dothan until 1986 when he moved to Enterprise. He retired from Alabama Power Co. after 32 years. He was an avid golfer, quiet and peaceful, and he loved the Lord and his family dearly.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Open Door Baptist Church with the Rev. John McCrummen officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. Mr. Adams will be taken to the church one hour before funeral time. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Open Door Baptist Church, 1509 Rucker Blvd., Enterprise, AL 36330.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Adams; stepfather, Levy Paramore; a son, Willie "Jay" Adams Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Murdock Adams; two daughters, Sharon Turner, Shanetha Adams; stepsons, David (Candi) Cotton, Enterprise, Michael (Christy) Cotton, Samson; grandchildren, Centeria Turner, Jai Adams, Tynisha Shazel, Alex Cotton, Ethan Cotton, Troy Cotton and Tanner Cotton; father, J. C. Jordan, Eufaula; two sisters, Deborah Hamilton, Dorothy (Jim) Guilford; three brothers, Charles (Nita) Jordan, James Thompson, Sebastian Rice; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Coy and Alice Murdock, Enterprise; brother-in-law, Gene (Linda) Murdock, Birmingham; a number of nieces, nephews and other family. His loving pet, Baxter (Nasty), will miss him also.
