Sgt. Edmund John "Eddie" Jeffers of Colorado Springs, Colo., and formerly of Daleville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19 in Ramadi, Iraq. He was 23.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 from the Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Daleville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 10 am and continuing until service time.
SGT Jeffers was in the infantry unit in Ft. Carson, Colo. He loved being an American and believed in what he was fighting for. He was more than willing to fight for this country and was a squad leader in whom many looked up to.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Jeffers, Colorado Springs, Colo.; his mother and step-father, Tina and John Kelly, Daleville; his father and step-mother, David and Karen Jeffers, Navarre, Fla.; one brother, Justin Kelly, Daleville; four sisters, Rebecca Jeffers, Troy,, Amanda Kelly, Hannah Kelly and Jolene Kelly, all of Daleville, AL; maternal grandfather, Edmund Horner.
