Robert L. Vasbinder of Chancellor, Ala., passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007, in Enterprise from injuries received in an accident. He was 41.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Cavin Cawthon and Steve Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from noon until service time.
Robert was born June 10, 1966 in Salem, Ohio, to the late Fred Vasbinder and Ms. Peggy Vasbinder. He was a 1985 graduate of Enterprise High School. In addition to his father, a grandfather, William VanSteenberg, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Strickland Vasbinder, Chancellor; two daughters, Melinda "Mindy" and Michelle Vasbinder, both of Chancellor; his mother, Peggy Vasbinder, Level Plains; one sister, Annette Barret (Tom), Dothan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Strickland, Chancellor; brother-in-law, Todd Strickland (Rhonda), Chancellor; maternal grandmother, Helen VanSteenberg; uncles, Jim VanSteenberg, Tom VanSteenberg, Bill VanSteenberg, and John Vasbinder; aunts, Susie VanSteenberg, Samantha Roder, Judy Smerchansky and Naomi Methia and several nieces and nephews.
