Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at Memory Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bob Baxter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday at First Presbyterian Church.
Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 3012 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, 36303, or Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Cir., Dothan, AL, 36301.
Mrs. Childs was born on October 3, 1923, in Houston County and resided most of her life there. She was employed with Farley Nuclear Plant for over twenty years until her retirement in 1994. Mrs. Childs enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by first husband, B.S. Langham and second husband, Omri "Pete" Childs, her son, James Marvin Langham, her brother, Tulon Barksdale.
Mrs. Childs is survived by her son, Scott Langham, Dothan; her daughter, Marilyn Gibbons, Dothan; grandchildren, Katherine (Stephen) Etheredge, Panama City, Fla., Lewis Ennis Gibbons, IV, Hilo, Hi.; several cousins and a niece; a special friend, Monica Shambray.
