Mr. Chester Hahs Nolen of Geneva passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at the family residence. He was 79.
Funeral services will be Saturday in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Dr. Mike Shirah officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Maple Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
Mr. Nolen was employed with the city of Geneva Water Department prior to his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Addie Hicks Nolen; three brothers, Winerton Nolen, Fay Jones Nolen and Roy Nolen.
Survivors include his wife Lillian Nolen of Geneva; children, Bobby (Pam) Nolen of Birmingham, Debra (Jim) Thorington of Manchester, Tenn., Randy (Lisa) Nolen of Dadeville; grandchildren, Seth, Trent and Caleb Nolen, Adam and Andy Nolen, Jacob, Garret and Kimberly Thorington; sister, Gail (Frank) Brooks of Hahira, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Susie Nolen and Sandra Nolen of Hartford; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva, (334) 684-2600, is in charge of arrangements.
