Mr. Clayton Henry Walden of County Road 708 (Cool Springs) passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at the family residence. He was 85.
Funeral services will be Saturday in Cool Springs Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with Dr. John Granger officiating. The body will placed into the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Ted Martin
Mr. Martin was born April 9, 1922, in Dale County to the late Pitt and Ella Hannas Walden. He was a veteran of World War II and had lived in the Cool Springs community for more than 50 years. He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Elma S. Walden of Enterprise; one son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Brenda Martin, Enterprise; one brother, Thomas Walden of Enterprise, Louise Godwin (Ben) of Cool Springs Community, Eloise Echouse (Mort) of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Nancy Ruth Bass (Kenneth) of Milton, Fla., Merle Horn of Hartford; one grandchild, Jennifer Moseley (Philip); one great-grandchild, Patrick Moseley.
Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise, (334) 347-9598, is in charge of arrangements.
