Jimmie Speigner Savage

Jimmie Speigner Savage passed from this life on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery with family members at her side. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Vaughn Park Church of Christ, 3800 Vaughn Road, in Montgomery with ministers Brad Sullivan and Buddy Bell officiating. Visitation with the family will be at 10 a.m. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Highway 52 in Geneva. Because of her great love for children, Mrs. Savage was everyones "Nannie" or Aunt Jimmie. Therefore, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to AGAPE, P.O. Box 230472, Montgomery, AL 36123, or Childhaven, P.O. Box 2070, Cullman, AL 39056, or Vaughn Park Church of Christ Family Care Ministry, 3800 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36106. She was a long time resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and a member of the Fort Walton Beach Church of Christ. For the past 10 years, she had resided in Montgomery with her daughter, where she was a member of the Vaughn Park Church of Christ. Mrs. Savage was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alice Munn Speigner and James W. Speigner of Geneva, and her husband of 51 years, Luther R. Savage of Fort Walton Beach. Mrs. Savage is survived and cherished by three sons and one daughter and their spouses: Ronald Savage (Shirley) of Holly, Mich., Barbara Mowry (Phil) of Montgomery, Glenn Savage (Francie) of Alabaster, and David (Cindy) Savage of Montgomery. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and their spouses: Luke Savage, Troy (Crissi) Mowry, Todd Mowry, Judy Stames, Tim Mowry, Melissa Mowry (Kit) Tatum, Wendy Savage (Josh) Bowling, Jonathan (Amanda) Savage, Matthew (Marisa) Savage, Jay David (Jennifer) Savage, James (Dana) Savage, and Jessie (Jessica) Savage, and four great-grandchildren. Having been one of nine siblings, she is survived by two brothers, Ben Speigner and Curtis Speigner of Geneva, and one sister, Ruth Shields of Marietta, Ga., along with numerous nieces and nephews.
