Horace Earl Roney, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, August 26, 2007, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was 59.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Byrd Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Mr. Roney was born in Henry County and lived his early life in the Newville area. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Roney enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Roney and Kathleen Griggs Roney Dickerson, and by a brother, Russell Roney.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Hayes and her husband, Don, of Ozark; two grandchildren, Jackson Hayes and Emily Hayes, both of Ozark; a brother, James Roney and his wife, Sadie, of Dothan; two nephews.
