Roy Fredric "Fred" Gardenhire Jr. of Orlando, Fla., was called home peacefully Aug. 19, 2007, at home surrounded by his family after a two and a half year battle with cancer. He was 69.
Graveside services will be Thursday in Sunset Memorial Park Pavilion at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, his family would like to request that donations be made in memory of Fred Gardenhire: First Orlando Foundation, 3000 S. John Young Pkwy Orlando, FL 32805-6691, (407)-514-4480, to assist a close family friend, 4-year-old Joseph Nuwayhid who is battling leukemia.
Mr. Gardenhire is survived by his wife Jeanette (Cecil) Gardenhire; children, Tanya Rickard (Dewayne), Teresa Thomas, Tim Thomas (Amy); grandchildren, Christa Thompson (Bryan), Angela Weathington, Jennifer Weathington, Tim Thomas Jr., Taylor Thomas, Alex Rickard and Hannah Rickard; great-grandson, Timothy "Trae" Mitchell; sister, Patsy Anderson; nephews, John and Stephen Anderson; niece, Nancy Anderson; cousin, Dan E. Martens; several great nieces and nephews and countless friends and customers.
Robert Byrd of Sunset Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Crematory of Dothan, (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements.
