Elizabeth Ginwright Walker, a resident of Henry County Road 131, Columbia, died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 18, 2007, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. She was 84.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, in the Hebron Baptist Church between Headland and Columbia with the Rev. Ted Forrester and the Rev. Don Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery, near Headland. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, Ala. 36302.
Mrs. Walker was born and reared in Eufaula, daughter of the late Robert Adair Ginwright and Lizzie Ellis Ginwright. She moved to the Hebron community in Henry County where she lived all her adult lifetime. Mrs. Walker was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church and formerly participated in the Burdeshaw-Solomon Senior Center in Headland. She was retired from WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville after 33 years employment. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Coleman Walker; her son-in-law, Jimmy Roney; a great-granddaughter, Dee Curry; and three brothers, Lawrence Ginwright, Robert Ginwright and Clarence Ginwright.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Patsy Walker Roney, Wesley Chapel, Fla.; a son, Terry Walker and wife, Mary Walker, Hebron community; a brother, Victor Ginwright and wife, Margaret Ginwright, Monroeville, Ala.; three grandchildren, Denise Williams and husband, Clint Williams, Lee Sullivan, Tammy Love and husband, Heath Love; two great-grandchildren, Cole Sznura and Hunter Love.
Serving as active pallbearers will be George Granberry, Butch Glover, Frank Granberry, Herschel Tew, DeLeon Tew and Rex Granberry. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sr. Adult Sunday School Class of the Hebron Baptist Church.
