Fred D. McIntosh of Graceville, Fla., (Poplar Springs Community) passed away Monday, July 23, 2007, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan following a sudden illness. He was 96.
Funeral services will be Thursday in Bethel Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kent Lampp officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Family will receive friends at Bethel Baptist Church today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or those wishing may make memorials to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund 1349 Hwy. 173 Graceville, Fla. 32440.
Mr. Fred was born April 9, 1911, in Houston County to the late Martie E. and Lula Clark McIntosh. Mr. Fred was a farmer and for over 20 years he was a bus driver and a time keeper for Poplar Springs High School. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he has served as Sunday school superintendent, training director, song leader, adult men and young adult men Sunday school teacher and served as a deacon for over 50 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Ruth McIntosh; son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Dianne McIntosh; daughter and son-in-law, Joe Ann and Bob Price all of Graceville; brother, James H. "Mack" McIntosh and wife Genevieve; half-sister, Evelyn Harville and husband Bud, all of Pensacola, Fla.; half-brother, Rex Spivey of Okeechobee, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Adam McIntosh, Stacey McIntosh, Matt and Susan McIntosh, Bill and Sita Price, Scott Price, Janie and Chris Flack, Joanna Price; 13 great-grandchildren.
