Mr. Isaac Brooks of 1130 Delta Street in Midland City went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at his residence.
Homegoing celebration will be Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Midland City at 11 a.m. with the Rev. W.F. Morris delivering words of comfort. Reposing will be at Scotts Chapel Hill Mortuary, 103 West Southport Street, today from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.
Mr. Brooks was born to the late Pattie Lee and Armillar Brooks on June 8, 1922. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He worked in various nursing homes helping to take care of the elderly.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ethel Mae Brooks and six siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Edna Brooks, Mamie Brooks, Sharon Brooks, Pearl McKinnon, Mary Player, Debra King (husband Charles), Katrina Agee (husband Thomas), Willie James Brooks, James Brooks (wife Betty), and Clarence Brooks, all of Midland City, Joann Jackson of Miami, Fla., Laura Stewart, Wanda Brooks of Virginia and Tommy Lee Brooks of Montgomery. He also leaves one brother, Thomas Brooks of New Jersey; 26 grandchildren; one brother-in-law; three sisters-in-law and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
