CITY OF DOTHAN COMPLETES INVESTIGATION OF "DOWNTOWN GROUP"

The City of Dothan has completed a seven month long investigation into the Downtown Group.
The Downtown Group has painted the murals, brought the ceramic peanuts to our area, and has helped revitalize downtown Dothan.
The group`s treasurer and long time Dothan city employee Lana Smitherman, allegedly used Downtown Group`s debit cards for personal expenses.
The total loss was more than eighteen thousand dollars, some of which was taxpayers dollars, however, this was paid back by Ms. Smitherman after it became public.
