Dothan Attorney Jim Parkman was back in the courtroom yesterday in his vigorous defense of former Healthsouth CEO Richard Scrushy.
Parkman continues to contest the credibility of witnesses testifying on behalf of the government.
One by one, the defense attorney has tried to convince jurors that Scrushy was not involved in the overstating of company values in an effort to mislead and bilk stockholders.
Scrushy has pleaded not guilty to inflating profit by 2.6 billion dollars from 1996 to 2002.
He blames the phony bookkeeping entries that bolstered the fraud on the subordinates who have pointed the finger at him.
