BEACHES CROWDED FOR SPRING BREAK:
Alabamians heading for the gulf coast for spring break may discover that finding a room to rent is a bit of a problem.
"The Montgomery Advertiser" reports that about 50 percent of all hotel and condominium rental properties remain closed and under repair from the ravages of Hurricane Ivan.
The situation is complicated by the number of people occupying rental property who were displaced from their homes by Ivan, and by the number of federal emergency workers still in the area.
STATE TROOPER WARNING:
The Alabama State Troopers have issued their annual warning to beach-goers flocking to the gulf.
Public Safety officials say troopers are concentrating on interstates, beach routes, and other high traffic areas.
They will be looking for DUI, especially underage drinkers, speeders, and those not using seat belts.
