City Manager Mike West is reviewing the final four candidates for police chief.
All the background checks have been completed, but Mayor Sowell told News 18 that West and the city of Dothan continue to recive phone calls and letters regarding some of the candidates that shed a "not so favorable light" on them.
West is reportedly checking out every rumor, and wants to make certain he is satisfied with the recommendation he makes to the mayor and board of commissioners.
West was unavailable for comment yesterday, but Mayor Sowell assured us that the process is being handled as quickly and efficiently as possible.
