DOTHAN CITY-HOUSTON COUNTY SCHOOLS TEAMING UP FOR READING PROGRAM

Dothan City and Houston County officials have teamed up to try to make Dothan the most "literate" city in the world...that was the declaration of Mayor Chester Sowell at yesterday`s Literacy Press Conference. Right now the City of Tifton Georgia holds that title. Organizers of the Sir-Read-Alot Campaign say that Dothan City along with Houston County can win the literacy fight if parents and comunity members roll up their sleeves and get involved. Officials are encouraging everyone to participate in reading week which is April 10 through April 16. There is a field trip to Landmark Park for all third graders on April 15, and if you are in education or have a third grader that you`d like to go, call Pamela Solomon at 792-0022, extension 201.
