DOTHAN RECEIVES AWARDS

After taking a break for the holidays, it was back to business for the Dothan City Commission yesterday. Their firt meeting of the new year was marked by a pair of exciting announcements. Senator Harri Ann Smith stopped by the meeting for a couple of reasons...first, to recognize Bob hendrix, Executive Director of the Dothan Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, as the new Alabama`s Tourism Executive of the Year. He was officially awarded this last week in a ceremony outside Dothan. And also at yesterday`s meeting, Senator Smith awarded Mayor Chester Sowell and The Board of Commissioners with a 10-thousand dollar check to help with the cities recycling campaign.
