AGE LOWERED FOR FLU SHOTS

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
After months of being stringent, State Health Officials are now relaxing criteria for a flu shot. Previously, only these in "high risk" groups were permitted vacinations, including the elderly, those with respiratory illnesses, and small children. Health officials now say anyone over the age of 50, out-of-home caregivers, and those who reside with people in the high risk group are eligible. Currently there is a surplus of more than 13-thousand doses of the vaccine. For flu shot information, you can contact your local County Health Department.
