CHANGES IN DIVORCE CASES

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Married couples wanting to file for divorce in Houston County will now have to go through an extra step. Judge Lawson Little has decided to send all divorce cases through a mediation process before they have the chance to be heard in a Court of Law. The two parties involved in the divorce and their attorneys will meet with another attorney, and a resolution will attempt to be made before anyone has to go to court. Judge Little says he is hoping for successful results. Judge Little also said that cases involving a custody battle would be resolved in a courtroom as quickly as possible...this new procedure has already become a state law in Florida.
