Officials now say the weekend`s cold weather led to some potentially fatal accidents around the Wiregrass involving space heaters.
Last week a family of four were killed in a Tennessee residence because of a faulty space heater, and Dothan Fire Marshall Ed Munn is determined to make sure that doesn`t happen in our community.
Dothan hasn`t seen a fire related death in two years, but with the recent string of accidents happening around the city, that could change unless residents educate themselves about fire safety.
Dothan fire officials say that is what they are there for and are available 24-7.
If you need assistance, or if you would like a fire marshall to walk through your home and make sure everything is fire safe, you can call them at 615-4520.
