TIME TO PAY HOMESTEAD TAXES

If you own a home and haven`t filed your property taxes, New Year`s Eve marks the deadline for settling up with the county. While every other county office is closed on this Friday, the County Commissioners Office will be open to collect last minute taxes. Houston County Revenue Commissioner, Starla Matthews, says they`ll be open Friday from 9 o`clock until 5 o`clock, and they are the only county office that will be open. Friday is also the last day to claim a Homestead Exemption.
