Colder temperatures puts many in the Holiday spirit, but it`s not necessarily a car`s best friend. Cooler temps makes it harder for engines to work properly. Joe Gibbons, owner of West Main Auto Care, says business has been cooming regarding winterizing customer`s cars.
He says they have been twice as busy this year as last year this month. Gibbons says it`s important to get your car checked before the weather turns cold, however, it`s not too late if you`ve yet to do so. Check the tire pressure, wiper blades, inspect belts, and checking your coolant, are the most important factors to make sure your car is prepared.
Winterizing your car will cost about $70 to $100, but Gibbons says replacing an engine can cost anywhere from 3 to 6 thousand dollars, so winterizing your car can save you a lot of money, and remember an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
We will be having more freezing temperatures coming up a little later this week.
