TRUCK OWNERS COULD SEE DECREASE IN ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEES

Updated: January 7, 2009
If you own a truck here in Alabama, you may soon be able to save a couple of dollars. Some truck owners may be seeing a decrease in their Annual Registration Fees. An act passed in the 2004 session of the Legislature estabishes a new mid-range vehicle weight that will qualify for a less expensive tag. Owners whose vehicles fit the new requirements will be issued a P-1 tag, and will see their fee go down from $105 dollars to just $35 dollars. The new law also allows owners to buy distinctive and personalized tags for an additional $50 dollars.
