Nine people are behind bars in connection with a number of area robberies and break-ins, and Dothan police say the arrests should serve as a reminder to area residents.
Arrested on various charges are Brandon Lee Willis, Jeffrey Dewayne Proctor, Antonius Lamar French, Jamie Buckman, Sandy Lynn Payne, Von Dewayne Graves, Fredrick Wayne Reed, Jeffrey Davidson, Jr. and Jerome Conrad Boykin, Sr.
All of them are suspected of similar, but unrelated crimes involving theft.
Police say this time of year, property crimes are on the rise, and people need to stay on the lookout. They say, be careful about leaving purses, wallets and other valuables in places that could invite trouble.
