BIG CHANGES BEING MADE IN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Some changes being made by the Alabama Department of Public Safety will soon be affecting Dothan troopers. The Department is re-organizing it`s highway patrol troops and the State Bureau of Investigations, to improve efficiency. Under the re-structuring, highway patrol troops will increase from six to seven troop headquarters...the Dothan Post, previously part of the Montgomery troop, will form the new troop, which will serve Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston and Pike counties. No offices will be closed under the plan, and there will be no physical re-location of any policing service.
