DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GRANT

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Victims of domestic violence in our area are going to get some help from Montgomery. Governor Bob Riley has awarded close to a million dollars to thirty three rural Alabama counties, including two counties here in the Wiregrass. The grant to the Alabama Coalition Against Violence will make certain that people in those areas, receive the same services offered in other parts of the state by providing community education and outreach programs so that rural residents who are in abusive relationships can obtain help. Both Barbour and Geneva Counties will both be receiving money from that grant.
