breaking news
Believe it or not, there are only forty six more shopping days before Christmas. We haven`t celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but in about a week, you can expect to see those Salvation Army Red Kettles all around town.
Officials say they are hoping to raise 100 thousand dollars this year for the local Salvation Army, and say they already have 1,000 families signed up for assistance for the holidays, but expect that number may increase to about 11 hundred by Christmas.
Houston County Commissioners made a proclamation yesterday, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, announcing their Annual Kettle Kickoff.
It begins November 15th. They also announced plans for their Angel Tree, which will be set up at Wiregrass Commons Mall on November 19th.
